SEMINAR: NOVEMBER 25, 2026
Against a backdrop of growing international instability, national security and strategic interests increasingly depend on close cooperation between institutions and industry. Geopolitical risk has become a key factor in corporate decision-making, making it essential to integrate these considerations into strategic planning and governance.
The seminar, entitled “Strategy, Innovation and Corporate Governance: Fincantieri’s Vision”, held by Enrico Della Gatta – Vice President of Fincantieri, will explore these challenges through the company’s experience, examining how geopolitical developments shape industrial strategies, from vulnerabilities in global value chains and restrictions on market access to longer procurement lead times.
Particular attention will be given to the underwater domain, an area of growing strategic importance where military, dual-use and civilian applications converge. The discussion will explore Fincantieri’s role in Italy’s Underwater Technology Hub (Polo della Subacquea), drawing on its established expertise in submarine construction and the development of an integrated, competitive industrial ecosystem.
The seminar will also address the contribution of industrial innovation and digital transformation, particularly unmanned systems, alongside the skills needed to meet the sector’s future challenges. These include strong technical expertise, managerial capabilities and a broader understanding of strategic and industrial dynamics.
