Courses

Students that do not want to or do not meet the requirements to apply to the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, can choose to attend one of the Professional Tracks (VA2-6) either in Milan or in Piacenza. Beware that students can attend the first two years in one campus and then attend the third year in the other one, selecting this way the tracks that they like the most.

VA2: MOTORI E TURBOMACCHINE

By attending the VA2: Engines and Turbomachinery track, students will learn all the basic working principles that control the functioning of both internal combustion engines and turbomachinery. Each course in this track have the goal to understand and compare innovatively the features of the engines and turbomachinery currently used by taking into account:
  • Fluid-dynamics aspects;
  • Energetical aspects;
  • Sustainability.
By the end of year 3, the graduate in Engines and Turbomachinery will have acquired the technical skills to design, maintain, and start both ICEs and turbomachinery. For further information, visit the Manifesto Degli Studi website or download the track presentation file by clicking on the following links.

VA3: IMPIANTISTICA INDUSTRIALE

By attending the VA3: Industrial Plant Engineering track, students will learn how to master all the basic principles that are needed to run manufacturing plants and industrial services:
  • Design;
  • Production systems and quality management;
  • Performance criteria setting;
  • Security;
  • Logistics.
By the end of year 3, the graduate in Industrial Plant Engineering will have acquired the technical skills to design, manage, and run manufacturing plants and industrial services. VA4: PROCESSI TECNOLOGICI

By attending the VA4: Industrial Technology track, students will become technicians able to implement engineering and manufacturing technology in manufacturing companies. During the courses, students learn all the technical skills to select, install, and manage the technological processes implemented by all manufacturing companies. According to the product features, the VA4: Industrial Technology will be able to identify:
  • The appropriate materials to use;
  • The most relevant mechanical characteristics and the procedures to modify them.
  • Transformation technologies;
  • Management and control criteria;
  • Processes to verify the result products.

VA5: PROGETTAZIONE

By attending the VA5: Machine Design, students will become expert technicians able to work in environments where components and mechanical systems are designed. During the following processes the following aspects are analysed:
  • Design and evaluation of the machine organs;
  • Design, modelling, and calculations of components and structures;
  • Elements of the study of operations, of the dynamics and control of both machines and mechanical systems.

VA6: VEICOLI

By attending the VA6: Vehicles, students will become technicians able to fix mechanical problems related to vehicles, which can work in the technical department of vehicle production or transport companies, or service companies working in the vehicle industry. The VA6: Vehicle graduate acquires the professional skills to design, maintain, and manage the performance of ground vehicles (both on wheels and on railways). VA2: MACCHINE E IMPIANTI DI PRODUZIONE (PC)

By attending VA2: Machinery and Production Plants, students will attend specific courses about mechanical and energetic systems, including industrial logistics and mechanical working systems. Afterwards, graduates will acquire the professional skills to design and produce:
  • Automotive components;
  • Valves, pumps, and couplings;
  • Lifting & material handling equipment;
  • Thermo-mechanical components.
The graduates’ broad knowledge will favour them to enter the labour market by working both in the industrial production industry and in engineering and services companies or professionals.
